We believe one of the most significant things we do is keep the body and mind active. Social interactions and engagement are at the heart of everyday life, and it is important that continues when someone moves to Beech House.
We encourage all our residents to continue with any hobbies or interests they may have, to maintain contact with their friends in the community and ensure all can access and feel comfortable practicing their religious/spiritual beliefs.
Our well-being officer (Joseph) provides a stimulating and varied programme that will include quizzes and games, craft and painting sessions, live music/entertainers, flower arranging, gardening, exercise classes, baking, accompanied trips out and of course the much loved pamper sessions. We also consider those who prefer just a simple one on one session (a chat or a room tidy) – there is always something for everyone.
We also do a lot of themed days, where staff and residents celebrate a special event in the calendar, such as: Halloween, Chinese New Year, St George’s Day, Diwali, US Independence Day, Wimbledon, Children in Need. Staff and residents alike usually need no encouragement to dress up for these occasions and all the highlights are recorded on our active Facebook page.
The famous annual seaside trip is always looked forward to – the bus ride and sing song, fish and chips, the arcades and slot machines as well as a walk on the prom – it is a brilliant day out.
Residents’ birthdays/milestones are celebrated in style and if a family wishes to organise something special (for any reason) we are happy to help with the arrangements, including booking any entertainment that might be required. We will help you celebrate in the main lounges or should you wish for something more private we have a spacious room with its own kitchenette available to you.
Our visitors' policy is very straightforward – you are welcome at any time.
“Beech House provides 24-hour care with compassion and enthusiasm. They have cared for my mum for the past 16 months. The staff are caring and passionate about people’s rights and choices to promote individualised care. The wonderful activities coordinator is a bundle of energy and encourages the residents to get involved in lots of different activities. As a family, we 100% recommend this care home for your loved one. Being here gives us peace of mind”.
